Top Ten Baseball

  1. Sharyland Pioneer: Last year’s top team has hit the ground running. They have a pair of losses to Calallen but they have run the table in every other test with impressive wins and they may not even be at full strength yet.
  2. Sharyland High: Already flexing muscle, this team has scored ten runs or more in multiple games with a pair of shutouts.
  3. Rio Grande City: Seven games, seven wins to start the season including a huge win over Calallen. Four of their first seven games this potent offense has produced over 10 runs.
  4. McAllen High: Winners of 6 of their first 7 games, averaging nearly 6 runs per game and a lone, extra-inning loss, to Calallen.
  5. PSJA High: Running the table early with a potent offense averaging nearly ten runs scored per game.
  6. Edinburg Vela: The Sabercats schedule is loaded with tough teams at the start but this team is geared up to be ready when the postseason gets here. The offense has score 17 runs in two separate games already.
  7. Los Fresnos: Back to back shutout wins for the Falcons to start the season and unbeaten early has them as another tough team that may not even be near full strength yet.
  8. Brownsville Veterans: The Charges are hitting their stride quickly with a mixture of strong pitching at times and offense that is coming to life.
  9. Zapata: Watch for this team to move up the ranks as the season continues. They have enough pitching and the offense can score runs. Postseason is a real goal.
  10. Weslaco High: This team has lost some tough games at the start but they have competed at a high level and should be well tested by the time the postseason gets here.

Note: These are the teams RSL believes will go furthest in the playoffs.
